This is an early hacked together concept for easily personalizing Firefox with unique visual designs.
Personas are lightweight designs that "skin" the Firefox web browser. Delivered as a web service, the menu interface and the Persona designs are exceptionally dynamic, and should allow for a wide range of interesting possibilities.
Basic Features
- You can choose a Persona and see results instantly without having to discover, select, download and install a separate bit of software or code.
i.e. two mouse clicks and no browser restart vs. fourteen mouse clicks and multiple browser restarts. - Personas can be added, removed or updated by their publishers at any time, without requiring a software update
- Personas can also change their designs based upon timers or external events.
e.g. a weather Persona that updates throughout the day with the current weather conditions, or a "kitten" theme that changes every day or every month with a new picture of a kitten. - Personas are also very easy to create.
Known Issues
- Works best with the default Firefox 1.5 or Firefox 2 themes.
- Requires network connection to be active and working on browser startup. If menu does not populate and network connection is active, try restarting your browser.
-
- Incompatible with some add-ons, specifically:
